After a rigorous tender process, University College Copenhagen – Københavns Professionshøjskole (KP) – has awarded itslearning a seven-year contract.
itslearning has a pedagogical focus that helps teachers improve their teaching with a student centric approach. In light of this, University College Copenhagen concluded that itslearning is the platform that best supports their academic expectations.
Why University College Copenhagen chose itslearning
After a long and thorough review, we have decided that itslearning will be KP’s common learning platform going forward. Our selection process was launched almost a year ago with a thorough pre-analysis and user survey. The highest criterion was quality – weighing 75% – while economics weighed 25%. Three suppliers chose to tender, and all three products were tested by a broadly composed evaluation group. itslearning scored highest in quality and was the most affordable as well. The group determined that itslearning is the most user-friendly system and found it particularly strong in the following areas:
- Curriculum and overview
- Ease of access to teaching materials
- Communication
- Student progression and the ability to follow students’ digital engagement on the platform
- Access from all devices (such as mobile phones and tablets)
According to Peter Flodin – Head of Library and IT – KP chose itslearning because it will contribute to a common identity for staff and students and make it easy to collaborate across educational programmes, locations and cross-professional activities.
itslearning – preferred by higher education in Denmark
After the decision was announced earlier this month, itslearning and KP began preparing the implementation for KP’s more than 20 000 full-time students and 2 000 staff. Adding these users to the existing base of VIA University College, UCL University College, University College Southern Denmark and University College Absalon, itslearning now serves over 125 000 teachers and students in the university college market in Denmark.
“We are honoured to be awarded with this tender and have signed the fifth university college in Denmark. Our partnerships with our customers are built upon close collaboration and extensive experience in the learning platform market space. We at itslearning pride ourselves on knowing the needs of education and work closely with teachers to understand their needs.”Thomas Gunleiksrud, VP of International Sales, itslearning
